A renovation steeped in memory and respect, this Double Bay apartment by Architect George was originally built as a display suite for a 1970s residential block on heritage-listed grounds – and has been home to the same owners ever since. Rather than reimagining the space, the brief was to heighten it – opening the plan, restoring sightlines to leafy garden views, and drawing material cues directly from the apartment’s original palette. Briggs Veneers’ Rift Oak sits naturally within this philosophy, its clean linear grain a quiet nod to the warmth and character the owners have always called home.
