Bellevue Hill House is a considered piece of residential architecture conceived to draw meaning from its context and age gracefully within it. At the centre of the home, the kitchen makes a quiet but confident material statement – Briggs Veneers’ Natural American Oak, crown cut and bookmatched, wraps the cabinetry with the timeless symmetry of its mirrored grain, its warm tones deepening under light in a way that only real timber can. The classic character of the bookmatched crown cut is set in deliberate tension with the kitchen’s modern curved form – a juxtaposition of the organic and the architectural, the traditional and the contemporary, that defines the space and anchors the home’s broader design intent.
