Evoking the warmth of a 1950s tearoom, Flora by Killing Matt Woods is a character-filled vegetarian diner on Australia Street, Newtown – its superlative timber panelling, cosy dining booths, and soft golden palette creating a space that feels as nourishing as the food it serves. 

Briggs Veneers’ Tasmanian Oak, quarter cut and slip matched, brings the fine, straight grain of natural timber to the heart of the interior – its traditional joining method a deliberate nod to classic timber craftsmanship, evoking the nostalgic warmth of heritage joinery and lending the space an authenticity that feels genuinely of another era.
